✈Once I Get There, I'll Be Happy...B.S.

Nov 06, 2023

We often hear the saying, "Once I get there, I'll be happy," but is that really the key to a fulfilling life? I beg to differ. In my experience, it's not about reaching the destination, but about savoring every step of the journey. Here are two of my guiding principles for life:

1. The person who has the most fun wins: Life is too short to be spent in a perpetual pursuit of some future goal. Instead, why not focus on having as much fun as possible along the way? When we approach life with this mindset, we tend to find joy in even the simplest moments.

2. The climb is the fun part: Think about it. When you're scaling a mountain, it's not just about reaching the summit. It's about the exhilaration of each step, the breathtaking views, and the sense of accomplishment with every meter gained. Life is no different. Embrace the challenges, relish in the small victories, and appreciate the growth that comes with each obstacle.

Embrace the Present: Living in the moment is a powerful practice. It allows us to fully appreciate the beauty and lessons that surround us every day. Whether it's a quiet morning with a warm cup of coffee or a challenging project at work, each moment contributes to our journey.

I think David says it best...“A lot of people think that once they reach a certain level or status, respect, or success, that they’ve made it in life.  I’m here to tell you that you always have to find more.  Greatness is not something that if you meet it once it stays with you forever.  That shit evaporates like a flash of oil in a hot pan.”  -David Goggins

So, let's make a pact to live by these rules: The person who has the most fun wins, and the climb is the fun part. Embrace each day with gratitude and enthusiasm, and watch how your perspective transforms. Remember, it's not about the destination, but the journey that truly matters.
